Just Pics

Elliot sitting and taking pictures of Nolan sleeping.  He knows how to take pictures and then look at them.  It took me forever to figure that out!
How do I chose my favorite???

Chalk

I decided we could go to the park and use the chalk that I bought Elliot.  It was great!  Our train got even longer than what I took a video of!

I sat him up a little bit so that he could see what was going on.

Guess who took this picture?  And he took pictures of every train wagon/car.

He really likes being on his tummy!

...and Nolan is starting to "talk"!

We had a pretty quiet weekend.  Andre was working on his sermon on Saturday and that automatically kept things low-key.  We did go to the woods twice.  There were no mushrooms, but Elliot had fun running around!

He took himself.

My nap buddy!  With his wonderful blanket!!  Thanks, Aunt Amy!

Weekend Stuff

We spent Saturday afternoon at the in-laws.  Sitting in the shade was really nice.  Elliot kept Andre busy--who needs a gym???

Snug as a bug

Opa was enjoying the show.

Nolan feels so different.  Nolan is stocky.  He is compact.  He is not very squishy!  I am reminded of a packed box with four sticks sticking out of it!  :)  And he cooed a little today! :)
THE DIMPLE!!!

Be still, my heart!

Elliot took this picture.

And he took this one too!

Avoiding the Heat--Friday

The hottest day yet.  Here is what we did in the afternoon!

We started the afternoon off with Nolan getting his bottle.  While I was doing that, I realized it was pretty quite in the bathroom and I could hear the water running.  This is what I walked into...

Glad there is the hole in the back of the sink.
 We made a ring toss.

Elliot cut part of it--can you tell where???

I decided to go in the basement with the boys.  I put Nolan in the Moby Wrap and down the stairs we went.  We stayed there about 30 minutes.  Elliot rode a little tricycle.  He is getting a new bike for his birthday. :)

We finished off the afternoon with glitter glue and stars. :)

Avoiding the Heat--Thursday

Our entertainment was provided by visitors today!  Karen came over with a former student, Erik.  She gave Nolan the bottle and read a ton of books to Elliot while I cut Erik's hair.  Really enjoyed having them!  And I tried out a new dessert.  Pastry dough with Nutella.  So simple and quite delicious.  I think I will do it for potluck this month.

This morning we started out with a walk to the playground.  It was cooler and I knew we had to get out while we could.  Only 90 minutes later, we were already hot and sticky.

Even though Nolan is a little oven and I am hot and sticky, it doesn't get much better than this!

Avoiding the Heat--Wednesday

We had a really good day.  It seems that each day, Elliot is getting more and more used to me having to pay attention to Nolan as well.  I have been looking through Pinterest for indoor activities.  I just don't feel comfortable going outside in the scorching heat with Elliot who I fear would burn quickly even with enough sunscreen and I fear I can't keep him hydrated.  And a newborn that can't tell me he is too hot.  And me, who is not really a hot weather type of person.

I gave Elliot the choice of making a parking lot for his cars or making play dough.  The parking lot won.  We started doing it and things were going great.  He started playing with it and about 2 minutes later said, " Let's make play dough."  ??????????????  Really?  All that work (well, not too much work) for 2 minutes of play?

Well, okay.  So we made play dough.  It is called Skin Therapy Play Dough.  Found the recipe on Pinterest.  I think it turned out pretty good.  No salt and it keeps in the fridge for about 3 days, I guess.

Then something happened that I was NOT expecting.  He started playing with his cars in the "mud".  And that lasted about 90 minutes!  90 minutes!  Yeah!

Avoiding the Heat--Tuesday

Well, we got through Tuesday with the help of Bible class in the evening!  Since Andre had the late shift, it was so nice of our wonderful Christian family to pick us up.  It has gotten more complicated with picking up now that there are two boys that need car seats!

Yesterday, I decided Elliot would enjoy making a noodle necklace.  Notice how I wrote "I decided...".  Well, he enjoyed playing with the noodles, but not making the necklace.  I ended up doing that.  Maybe when he is older???  Or is it just a girl thing?

And he brushed Nolan's hair last night.
