Snow!

We sure have been having fun in the snow--it is hard to get good pictures of the fun we have had, but I tried!  Andre took Elliot out a few times without me since I needed to cook, etc and I know they had a blast!  There are plenty of sleds at the in-law's house, but of course, not at our place!  Oh well!  We will be ready for the next snowfall.

We got a lot of snow on Dec 26 and it started melting today which meant the boys got to build a snowman!  I had to take the pictures in the dark, but at least you can see the snowman and the boys!

Almost Perfect Days

We have had a couple of almost perfect days--I say almost, because I am missing my family in the States!

Christmas Eve was spent with Andre's parents--Oma and Opa.  Elliot enjoyed opening presents.  He only got one toy, which we decided was plenty!  The rest were books and train sheets.

We had the traditional Müller Christmas Eve family supper--potato salad and roster (grilled sausages).  Boy, did it taste good!

It was just the three of us on Christmas Day, but it was great!  We took a nice walk in the crisp weather.  We just had sandwiches for lunch and leftover potato salad and roster for supper.  We really enjoyed just relaxing, watching Elliot play and skyping with family.

Dec. 26 is a holiday here.  It snowed last night and while the boys are out playing in the snow, I am supposed to be getting our ham ready for lunch!  I am doing a sort of green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, Angel Biscuits and cranberries along with the ham.  My mouth is just watering!

Happy Holidays!

Name That Tune (Before Mommy Starts Singing)

I sang this song to Elliot as I fed him when he was a tiny baby.  For some reason, I quit singing it when he was about 5 months old.  I truly think he "remembered" it because when I started singing it again about 3 months ago, he caught right on.  He seemed to know the song.  Truly amazing.

Maybe Andre and I are the only ones that know what he is trying to sing!  Haha!

Baking Cookies

I decided I needed to do some baking for the holidays--especially since I volunteered to bring cookies to the family gathering.  I chose a really simple recipe--one that Elliot could help me on.  He is getting really good at stirring things together.  Mixing the flour and sugar is his specialty! :)  I think I say, "Keep it in the bowl." at least 5 times though--he gets carried away with stirring sometimes. We have baked Butter Cookies twice and I will definitely keep the recipe.  Flour, sugar, butter and egg yolks--that's it.

And here is the final product!

Christmas Tree

We finally got our Christmas tree on Saturday and decorated it on Sunday afternoon.  Elliot put quite a few ornaments on all by himself!

And I made some butternut veggie soup for lunch today.  I was really impressed with the way it turned out and tasted--probably won't be able to do it again!  Haha!  The color of the soup was amazing--God makes such wonderful colors!  The picture just doesn't do justice.

The Guitars and My Boys

There is just something about my boys and their guitars!  It started when Elliot was able to pull up.

July 2013
Then Elliot got a little plastic guitar.

And now he has a little wooden one that he likes to play.

And then last night, they switched guitars--was pretty cute!

And Elliot got a bath. He loves bubbles!

Counting (mostly in English)

I have been trying to get a video like this for a few days now, but when I start the video he starts whispering!  Anyways,  we are making progress on counting!  This is a high definition video, so let me know if there are any problems and how it compares to the standard definition.  The standard takes up less space. :)

Just Playing Outside

On Saturday morning, we just went outside with a ball and some bubbles.  Nothing big, but fresh air is always good!

Otherwise the weekend was normal--lots of things to do, but we were able to relax on Sunday afternoon.  The video is only standard quality--next time I will try high quality!  Hopefully it is better.

Whisper Voice

Elliot has been trying out his whisper voice for about two weeks now.  Before we got to bed, he liked trying to sing the ABCs  in a loud voice and then he says, "Quiet."  And sings them in his whisper voice.

Well, you have to know that he LOVES watching children's train videos on YouTube with his Papi.  Papi is barely out of bed and he says, "Train?"

He had definitely watched enough today with his Papi, but that did not keep him from asking again.  He went up to his Papi and whispered like I would not see it or hear it, "Train?"

I just bust out laughing.  Now if he would learn to use his whisper voice in church....

Legos for Andre

Well, our new sofa arrived...in boxes.  We really like IKEA, but I think every time we get something new, we say to ourselves "Never again!".  Then a couple of years go by and we buy something else from IKEA.  It wasn't too bad though--it only took 2 hours.

Elliot playing hide and seek.

Just a little chaos...

Our little helper.

We are really looking forward to having family time on the couch!  And it makes into a nice bed...so we are taking reservations at the Müller Bed and Breakfast!

Two of my Favorite Videos

Elliot really enjoys little children's carts at the grocery store.  This was the first time we got him one.  March 2014

Some of my favorite pictures of Elliot

Aren't cameras great?  Catching the special moment.  Here are some favorites of mine.
Just sleeping away

Supposed to be sleeping, but he discovered his feet!

Don't you just love this face???!

5 months old--we were in Berlin to get his American passport.

Trying to eat a daisy...

He loves bubbles!

Just love this picture!

Doesn't that face tell you how much mischief he can create???

The first time with a children's cart--he really needed driving lessons!

He favorite place in the world--on top of Papi's shoulders!

He used to put stickers on his face all the time.

He really got into pumpkins this year.
