A very bittersweet trip home to my family. Lots of laughs and lots of tears. I had some of the best conversations between 5 and 6 am with Mom about Dad, life and stuff. Andre was able to take vacation to take care of the boys and I am so thankful for that. I had time to start grieving, reflect and remember. God is always with us! I have asked God several times if Dad has quit hollering for excitement that he is in heaven!!
Dad always told me not to come to his funeral...well, I did. And I needed it. I just wish I could have stayed a little longer to love on some family. I have found a lot of peace in the fact I could see him in October--healthy, fit and enjoying life. And hollering for excitement on Mars Hill. :)
Yonder over the rolling river,
Where the shining mansions rise,
Soon will be our home for ever,
And the smile of the blessed Giver
Gladdens all our longing eyes.
Where the shining mansions rise,
Soon will be our home for ever,
And the smile of the blessed Giver
Gladdens all our longing eyes.
Love you, Dad! Until we meet again.
I'm glad you came..we all needed it.
