Swimming!

Elliot is taking swimming lessons!  He loves them. It is just an eight week course, but that is okay.  He was so scared the first day, but when I came in the last five minutes of class, he was beaming! He has really gotten confident in the water and can hold his head underwater now. He still needs a swimming noodle to keep him afloat, but he really enjoys it!

Working Boys

Our boys sure know how to work! We went to a great playground and they just dug and pulled, ran and jumped! :)

Their next job was drawing on the sidewalk! :)

Bible Class with Granna

I was really happy that Granna could join us for the children's Bible class. It was just my two boys on this particular Sunday because of summer break and our topic was Jesus is my best friend. I picked songs that Elliot really enjoys singing. Sometimes, he is really a singer and sometimes he is not. :) This Sunday he was a singer and I got some videos of him singing. Granna had to turn her hearing aid down. Ha!

Elliot's favorite song--The Battle Belongs to the Lord

Yummy Ice Cream with Granna

It has been so hot. We went to the ice cream place....it was in a mall...air-conditioned.  Delicious!!

Bristle Blocks from Granna

While Granna was here, she saw something at church that the boys enjoyed playing with.  She decided they need some at home--let me tell you, these Bristle Blocks are great!  They are so quiet--just heavenly.  And they keep the boys occupied too. Nolan sure has enjoyed building things.  Elliot enjoys it too, but Nolan has really taken an interest to them. Thanks so much, Granna!

Crafts with Granna

It was so hot while Granna was here that we did a lot of crafts!  We had so much fun!  Granna brought a few things from the States for the boys to paint. Elliot painted by number and Nolan painted a sun catcher.

Two excited little boys!

Since I had lots of egg cartons around here, we got on Pinterest and found some cute ideas for the boys.  They made helicopters and boats out of egg cartons!

Then Granna bought little wooden bird houses for one Euro each.  The boys loved it.  Elliot did a great job painting a rainbow on the roof of his birdhouse. And Nolan--he was so concentrated and mixed some beautiful colors.  I was very impressed with both boys.

Mom was painting egg carton flowers--the blog for that is yet to come!

Riding the Train with Granna

We took a morning and went to ride the Parkeisenbahn--a little train here in Chemnitz.  It goes through a wooded area, past a few neat things. One ride takes 10 minutes and we did two! We were going to play a the really nice playground right next to the train station, but it started pouring.  Maybe next time! But we had fun on the train!
