Bristle Blocks from Granna

 

While Granna was here, she saw something at church that the boys enjoyed playing with.  She decided they need some at home--let me tell you, these Bristle Blocks are great!  They are so quiet--just heavenly.  And they keep the boys occupied too. Nolan sure has enjoyed building things.  Elliot enjoys it too, but Nolan has really taken an interest to them. Thanks so much, Granna!

It was so hot while Granna was here that we did a lot of crafts!  We had so much fun!  Granna brought a few things from the States for the boys to paint. Elliot painted by number and Nolan painted a sun catcher.

Since I had lots of egg cartons around here, we got on Pinterest and found some cute ideas for the boys.  They made helicopters and boats out of egg cartons!

Then Granna bought little wooden bird houses for one Euro each.  The boys loved it.  Elliot did a great job painting a rainbow on the roof of his birdhouse. And Nolan--he was so concentrated and mixed some beautiful colors.  I was very impressed with both boys.

Riding the Train with Granna

We took a morning and went to ride the Parkeisenbahn--a little train here in Chemnitz.  It goes through a wooded area, past a few neat things. One ride takes 10 minutes and we did two! We were going to play a the really nice playground right next to the train station, but it started pouring.  Maybe next time! But we had fun on the train!

We hopped on the bus and visited the botanical gardens with her during her first week here.

We also went to the Chemnitz zoo!

 

 

It was a great first week!!!

Just playing!

The boys had off from Kindergarten for three weeks and my goal was to visit lots of playgrounds!  We did and it was lots of fun!

 

 

  

 

 

The first video is the boys playing "grocery shopping" at home.  It was neat to see them working together! The other videos are of us on a Sunday afternoon in the park.  We had taken their bikes with us and we were running them around in a circle there!  They slept good that night!
