Craft Project

Elliot and Nolan had a recycling week at kindergarten--they did lots of neat things with the children on recycling.  Elliot really wanted to make this beer cap flower.  He collected all the beer caps in the park on the way home from kindergarten.  Pretty sad that so much beer is being drunk, but we turned it into something pretty.

 

And here are the tin cans that we painted!  I hope they don't rust too bad!  We'll see!

 

 

Butterflies and First Ice Cream of the Season

 It's time again!  We have season passes for the butterfly exhibit in the botanical garden here in Chemnitz. :) They had a spring flower exhibit as well, so there are a few pictures of that too.

My Beanie

I have been jealous of the boys hats for some time now...they look like this.  We have several like this for the boys in case one gets lost.  They are great. 

 

 

 

 Anyways, I have been wanting something similar for a while now because when the wind blows, my ears do NOT like it.  They start to hurt and I immediately think ear infection.  Well, today, I had had enough.  It was windy, my ears hurt and continued hurting for about an hour after we got inside.  It was a nice day so I didn't have my thick winter beanie.  Well, I decided I would sew one.  The one I choose was promised to be done in 10 minutes....yeah, right.  But I still got it done.  It took about an hour with cutting out, threading my needle numerous time, putting more thread on the bobbin, etc.  You know how a sewing project goes.  Here is the link that I used.  I had to do it a little differently since I was using one of Andre's old t-shirts--shhhhhh--don't tell him! 

 

It's make me have flat hair, but that is better than an ear infection!

Trip to the Chemnitz Zoo

We took our first trip to the Chemnitz Zoo the other day!  It was really nice--there were a lot of other people there too, but it wasn't too full. :)

It is so nice--the boys are starting to really play with each other!  It makes me so happy!  There are days that are full of fights, but once and a while we have a good day!

We were just itching to plant!  We planted zinnias, sunflowers and more zinnias!
