June/First Part of July

We picked strawberries so many times this year! It was great! It was so fun to see the boys' baskets filling up and popping a strawberry in their mouth.

Elliot spent a lot of time working on Nolan's present for his birthday!

He loves his bike!!

We had a wonderful birthday party in the park for him. His smile just melts my heart!

Lots of fun in November

November was a busy month! I got a half of a huge pumpkin from my mother-in-law and made three pumpkin pies, three batches of pumpkin muffins and some pumpkin soup. Andre always gets enough of pumpkin soup really quick, but I like it--especially the pies! Ha!

At Kindergarten, it was Lantern Festival. All the kids, parents, grandparents and whoever else come for an afternoon of food and play. At the end, everyone pulls out their lantern and we do a walk around the neighborhood in the dark. The boys really enjoyed it!

Elliot knew exactly what he wanted to give me for my birthday. I had some really soft fleece and flannel that he had used for his Papi's birthday present. He had asked me to make a heart pillow for his Papi. He picked everything out and I sewed. He told Papi he wanted to make a heart pillow for my birthday. Papi--could you please sew it? Papi said yes. Guess who ended up sewing her own birthday present? Me! Hahaha! Elliot really put some thought in it! And his heart too.

Nolan also knew exactly what he wanted to get me for my birthday. A dress. Papi tried to talk him out of it by asking if we could color a picture for Mommy? Maybe a picture of himself? Nope--he wanted to get Mommy a dress. Okay. So he and Papi went shopping. They walked in a store and Nolan spotted his dress right away--it was glittery. He was so proud I could have cried! Such a sweet boy.

Nolan would just love to go to school with Elliot!

Elliot is seven!

Our big boy is seven!!! We can't believe it! He is such a joy!

Unfortunately, I didn't get too many pictures. I was sick with the hand, foot, mouth disease and couldn't go to his birthday party. Papi did a great job though!
Thanks, Granna!

We got him a office stool for doing his homework.

Nolan's Third Birthday--Third Party

We celebrated Nolan's birthday with Andre's family in a park near where Andre grew up.  It's very quiet and green.  Nolan ate his strawberries and everyone else had cupcakes!  There was a playground there that they enjoyed!  Diana got to come and we were happy about that!

Watermelon Cake

A friend of ours had a birthday and we had invited him over.  A birthday cake.  We need a birthday cake.  The catcher is no sugar, no honey, no agave, etc....what to do....

I found a picture on Pinterest that tweaked my interest--a watermelon cake.  And that is what I did.  It didn't quite turn out like the picture, but I was satisfied!  I used whipping cream for the "icing" and let it kind of run down the sides.  I would do it again--it is a nice alternative to the sugary cakes!  Next time I need candles though!

End of October

The end of October was basically Papi's birthday!

We got him special helium balloons--since it was his 50th birthday!  I forgot to take a picture of all the balloons, but I got the pictures of the special balloons I got for Elliot and Nolan.

This is my pureed food that Nolan didn't eat.  It doesn't look too bad, does it?
