Not crawling, but...

Nolan can sit up in his bed! I have yet to see him do it live, but I know I lay him down and two minutes later I hear joyful sounds from the bedroom.  I knew we were going to have to lower his mattress soon. On Saturday, I knew it was THE priority for the day when I went in at 6:30 in the morning and he was as happy as a lark sitting there.

 

The down side is that he thinks he needs to stay awake longer...a few naps have already fallen by the wayside.

The Golden Calf

In Bible class, the boys are going through the Old Testament, specifically Exodus right now.  We got to the golden calf.  Exodus 32.

 

My good friend, B, had the great idea of making a golden calf out of Playmais.  This is made of maize, water and food coloring--great for children and so much fun.

 

It was a group effort, but here is our golden calf.
 

 

The next class was spent destroying it--Exodus 32, 33.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Catching Up...

Nolan is just getting so big!  Still not crawling and toothless, but just getting to be a big boy.  When he starts crawling and walking, there will be no holding him back!  He loves getting on the bobby car and sitting there.  His feet already touch the ground--from his height, the car is perfect for him!  I don't let him sit on it unless I am there, since his balance is not good enough.  But he sure does love it!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nolan can pull things off his head now--including his hat when he is outside...

 

 

And he can drink out of a glass--he doesn't hold the glass by himself and lots of water goes elsewhere, but still!

 

Elliot finally decided to wear his giraffe mask! What a cutie!  And then he wore it outside to go grocery shopping....who cares, right?

 

 

 

Nine Months Old

 

Our little boy is not so little any more.  Boo hoo.  How did Nolan get so big so fast?  He is nine months old today!  He is such a joy!

Still no crawling, but he sure does wiggle here and wiggle there!  Still no teeth, but he loves to eat!

Sun!

We have been anxiously waiting for some sun and warmer weather.  We finally had a day where the boys did not have to get all bundled up to go outside!  It was wonderful!

Easter

On Good Friday, we headed to Diana's.  We had a really good trip and made good time--that means Elliot went to the bathroom when we did. Ha!  We have had trips where we stop six times within an hour before he can relax and go to the bathroom. Saturday morning started out with a nice bakery breakfast.  We ate and ate and ate.  After that, we headed to the local DIY store to get some spring plants for Diana's terrace.

Our eggs that we hunted.  Only about 5 came home.  Elliot is really hard on hard-boiled eggs.  He dropped his little baskets a couple of time. :)

 

 

Saturday afternoon we went on a walk in a nearby village where they had warm springs.  We got to see horses, cows, ducks, fish and a lot of turtles.  And we hunted for eggs!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 We were able to go to the church of Christ in Augsburg in the morning and headed to LEGOLAND in the afternoon!  That was a really neat place!  Very children friendly.  They even had a whole building where you could take care of your baby.  Very convenient.  I was able to warm up Nolan's bottle.  Elliot had a blast!  His face was just smiling the whole time!
